Failure is not yours to own…

"When you are open to all possibilities there is no such thing as failure."

Failure is only an outcome that we did not plan for, want or expect. Expectations that we have established for ourselves and others, that are unmet, we generally label as 'failure'.

How can we judge a moment or a lifetime as a failure based upon the fact that one occurrence out of an infinite number of possible occurrences did not happen the 'right way' or according to our hopes, plans or desires?

How can we judge the beach by a few grains of unexpected sand?
How can we judge an ocean by a few droplets of water?
How can we accept the concept of failure in our lives, when most moments, which are beyond our control, bump up against our expectations of those moments we desire to control? Most things do not happen as we expect, does that make them or us a failure or of lesser value?

We must be of greater vision and openness about the things we designate as a failure.
It is in our best interest to allow events and moments to come to us, encircle us and pass through us - unjudged by the simplistic perspectives called 'failure' or 'success'. In this way we will find more personally opportunistic meaningful occurrences/moments that have value for us.
However, if we must judge a moment as success or failure, let us be conscious in accepting our 'failures' and 'unanticipated moments' equally as our 'successes' (The moments that are in agreement with what we hoped and wanted), because within them are all the hidden seeds of our possibilities and potentialities.

"Failure is just a term of judgment, a box, that we use to store the moments we perceive as not having met our expectations."

Like a piece of coal, failure in time will prove itself to potentially be a diamond and a teacher of great value.

Remember: ‘Failure’ is not a personal statement about you and your capability.
